Copy of About
Refugee Care Collective is a nonprofit organization that serves and empowers refugee families as they rebuild their lives.
Since 2015, Refugee Care Collective has changed not only the lives of those we are caring for, but the landscape of caring for refugees in Oregon.
We believe that a different world is possible. We picture a place that becomes home to those previously displaced, a city that gives tools to those rebuilding their lives, and a community of people, who together, become the embodiment of hope to those seeking rest and refuge.
Through direct service programs, we have served hundreds of families who have been displaced by war and violence, connecting families to tangible support and community.
Our work serves vulnerable families from countries across the world, from those who have only arrived last week to those who arrived several years ago; from engineers and business owners to teachers and tradesmen; from large multi-generational families to single mothers with children.
Refugee Care Collective is the collective community effort of bringing hope to families as they work to rebuild their lives, their sense of home, and their future.

Our Core Values
At Refugee Care Collective, our values drive all we do.
Presence
It is through long-term, faithful presence that lasting change transpires. Real hospitality is found not just in the initial welcome or moments after arrival, but in walking alongside for years to come. Long-term presence has the power to transform people’s lives, turning strangers into neighbors and neighbors into family.
Partnership
We believe in the power the community has when it works together to affect positive change – a belief that together, we can do more than we can apart. As a result, we partner with local refugee resettlement agencies and serve as a unifying liaison for faith communities, businesses, schools, and individuals marked by goodwill.
Empowerment
We seek to prioritize the leadership and participation of those we serve, ensuring that our work creates meaningful and sustainable impact.
Mutuality
As we serve vulnerable families, we recognize that we, too, are changed by those we serve. Additionally, we recognize that our ability to impact the highest degree of change is often in relation to both our humility and willingness to listen and join hands with others. For this reason, we are willing to play a small role in something significant, centering our partners and those we serve.
Innovation
We seek to bridge the gap between what is and what could be, finding creative solutions to existing problems. We are marked by our ability to develop sustainable programs that meet essential needs in the refugee community, and are committed to the process of refining our programs to make meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
